Best way to remove tape residue from tyres?

Bought some Advans from Tire Rack (great service by the way) and they arrived in pairs taped together with the shipping labels. Removal of the tape left a residue on the sidewall that I tried scrubbing off with soap and water but it's still there. The label on my trusty bottle of Goo Be Gone says not to use it on rubber, so what's the best way to remove the goo? TIA.

Use a heavy degreaser, just be careful not to have the solvent on the rims or brake calipers too long. Castrol makes a nice purple degreaser (I forget what its called, but you would know what I am talking about if you saw it).

Try warm soap and water as well. The warm water tends to melt the glue a bit. You can also take them to a car wash and pressure wash the sidwall. Glad to hear all arrived well

Yeah, thanks for taking care of me. The tyres actually arrived the day after I ordered them. I did try soap & water but I'll hit the pressure wash up on the way home. As a side note: I took my car to Discount Tire to mount the tyres (please don't lecture me on how I should have used one of TireRack's recommended installers ) and they managed to scratch 3 of the wheels. Great service!
