Got the same ones on today and just it time for a wet test. Not really just drove to work, but wont really push anything yet until they get that new tire sheen off them. Maybe its just some of that new sportbike tire fear still in me.

Okay, I need some good winter tires for the Seattle area. More specifically, Redmond which is a bit cooler climate and we get occasional snow.

I'm not all the confident in the stock tires, since they're pretty much high performance summer only tires.

I've been reading some of the threads on here and am lost as to the end all be all ultra high performance all season tire.

I also don't know if 255/40/17 will actually benefit me.

Any tips?

Thanks,
Sam

i heard 225/45/17's do a better job in the winter.

Try Pirelli P-zero nero m+S if you could get some or try Kumho ASX. I have the ASX and as they wear, I'm liking them a bit more then when i first got it.

When I drove the Yokos in the snow, they weren't that great. We had a big storm, and we got about 20 inches. AFter the first scrape, I still had problems catching traction, especially after the tires got loaded with snow. And before someone asks, how do the azenis do inthe snow, great, no wear, as the car never left the garage.

I have actually heard a 195/45 / 50 woudl be good in the snow. I have a buddy up north, and he uses them with no issues. Not sure of the brand though. You want to get a narrow footprint to punch down through the snow, a 255 won't be it.

these are my everyday tires (this is my second car, so it doesn't see snow)... they have been amazing... we'll see how long they last (treadwear rating of 60)
