Hey I surf the tirerack site regularly for race tires and street tires. I give them a lot of my money. I trust their ratings but always remember that they are not necessarily testing those tires on a 2004 lancer evolution 8 RS. So I like to hear from those with a similar if not the same cars to mine.

Like I said, please let us know what you think of them on your Evo. And let us know a little about how you drive day to day.

I have the goodyear F1s on my evo and they are awesome but at the same time they are a little pricey too. Good luck.

I agree here...Like them better than my advans bc the wet grip in INCREDIBLE!! But I have to disagree on the little price as 600 a set shipped isnt bad at all...advans are close to a G.

seriously, I am not joking here....Dad could tell a major difference on his Vette too....I am hooked on these tires...Dont let the goodyear name fool you. I actually like driving my Evo in the heavy rain now(scary a few times when the advans were on), and can drive like you would on dry pavement, even around corners..Give em a try...hell if ya dont like, Ill buy em from you for later..LOL

I've got 19" KDW 2's and they definetly grip better than the stock Advans (others think the same who has driven my EVO). I know size makes a difference, but these tires are great in lots of conditions. Good $ and long tread life.

best performing summer tire would be the one that keeps the cash in your pocket and still performs. Why not look at the hankook rs2s that are knock offs of the advan neova.. they look mean as hell, and they grip very well.. plus i got mine for 120 installed for 245/45/17. Im lowered on hotchks springs and had no rubbing issues at autox. It was also my first autox and I did quite well for my first time and was 5 seconds beind the seasoned vets on dedicated autox tires

If you get the RT615's do not get 245/45's! Thay are way to loose in the sidewall. They are grippier than the stock advans, but get the 255/40 for sure. Beware though, my 245/45 Rt615's weighed about 4lbs. more than my stock advans. I just ordered the Neova's, so I will report on them when they get here. For what it's worth, the 615's have the best looking tread I have ever seen, totally stands out! Also the 255/40's are only 162bucks each with free shipping at discount tire direct. Then $40 to mount them at a local discount tire store. Or you could by my stock advans.

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's kick ***! I've had them for almost a week and 500 miles now and for a 220 treadwear tire their performance can't be compared to the Bridgestone S-03's. As for long term performance, I can't say how the Pilots will hold up to the S-03's UNIT-AQII...

I was very unimpressed with the performance of the F1 GS-D3's. My all-season Yoko AVS dB's were a better summer tire over the Goodyear...

I am now back on stock advans and very happy I tried the Toyo T1-S and did not like them in the dry. It is a great rain tire though. In dry braking the stock tire provides mutch better braking and has a mutch stiffer sidewall. I have heard good things about the BF Goodridge KD tires and want to try them out soon.
