mine continue to do it after taking them back off greasing the hell out of them with brake lube, and ati squeal and using fiber shims. they are actually louder now if I have to stop real fast it sounds like my damn left front wheel is gonna fall off. i gave up a long time ago thinking it would stop.

If I remember correctly Hawk corrected this by integrating an anti squeel backing on their new pads, call them and they should be able to help you out.

Max

I just installed all four corners with HPS and the all sqeal like crazy when I stop hard from high speed. At normal driving condition, no sqeal at all. I gotta go to AutoX tomorrow. Kinda embrassing.

which hawk pads. the HP pads will make noise til you heat them up, thats the nature of the metalic pad. you sacrifice noise for stopping ability! the HPS pads should be silent. if they are not, i dont think they were installed properly. did you replace or turn your rotors wehn you put the new pads on? you should have atleast sanded the rotor with a piece of 80 grit sandpaper for a second. that allows it to seat better! pull the pads off and sand it real quick. you can also add some "anti-squeel" the the back of the pads (between the pads and the caliper) that will remove any of the sound that is caused by the pads vibrating against the caliper!

That is exactly the same problem I am having except I am using Hawk HPS. Any idea what is causing it? By the way how you been doing? I met you at the one meeting we had at the cheese cake factory a while back.

Hey how's it going? Yeah I remember the meet at the cheesecake factory, your name again?

I dont know what is causing this. I am thinking that maybe they need to warm up or something, but even after driving for half an hour they still squel when coming to a stop.

My name is Gene. I was the one who had my wife and nephew with me. Yeah I just did mine today and I am hoping it goes away soon. Funny thing is at first they didn't squek while I was bedding them in. Until I got to the hard stop part. Next stop after that killer squek. It did seem to get a little better the short distance I drove it though. Let me know if you figure out what is causing it on yours.
