That looks good. The engine enamel should be ok.. let us know if it doesn't hold up though. Went over to my parent's house and waxed my calipers when i changed out the stock pads for Hawk HP+. My dad thought i had finally lost it when he saw me waxing calipers and changing pads on a new car, lol.

I just did this over the weekend and took all of an hour to do. Rotated my tires at the same time. Definately looks much better and the engine enamel dries w/ a nice glossy finish. Definately give this

I kept them on, and just used some newspaper/masking tape to paint them.

I wish I would have thought of this before I "fixed" mine. I sanded mine all the way down (with a dremel) and resprayed them with 1500 deg red paint. They pretty much look like ricer crap now!

I want to powdercoat them...but Im afraid the 400 degree oven will destroy the seals and ruin the calipers. --> One guy above said his calipers got to over 600 degrees...anybody else pyrometer their calipers??

How did you avoid painting the words?

It isn't red paint, it is clear enamel. Basically sand around any areas that are peeling/flaking and remove that clear coat. Sand down the rest of the areas lightly. I did some wet sanding. Then wash them/dry them, and spray them w/ a few coats of the enamel.

i've read up on how to do head/taillights, but evodave has it down to a science... honestly doing this fix up job is pretty easy... it's not that hard to take off a wheel...peel (well the peeling sucked), sand and spray... then put wheel back on..
