hook me up with some 800+ degree paint, and we'll be set.

Til then, any real track usage (no grannies allowed), will cause them to brown and turn rust colored, and peel the clear.

Trust me I have washed them. They are still shiny, just look like burnt toast.

kevin

how are they holding up?

since my car has been in a garage since last october, I am going to be starting to mod the thing back up again and get is ready to start tearing up the streets.

And this is one of the things that pisses me off about my car is the calipers.

started peeling today and it was taking a very long time. than i started to screw around and i used compressed through a very fine air gun and it was amazing how easy the clear coat came off. I practically was able to pull almost all the clear coat off just using compressed air.

questions though, most of the clear coat does not want to come off, so i just used sandpaper to blend the edges for the peeled areas with the areas that werent. Is that about what you did? Or did you peel off all the original clear?

That's what I did today. Some of the clear still seems in pretty good condition so I just sanded down the areas where I peeled and where there was still clearcoat left. The end result turned out pretty good I think. I only got two done before it started raining - I'll have to do the other two next weekend. But I'll get to see how they hold up to the high heat this week!
