warped rotors or pad transfer???
warped rotors or pad transfer???
while driving up to the folks place for Turkey day i noticed that i got quite a bit of shaking when applying light braking at freeway speeds on my 05 MR (with not even 7500 miles on it). if i stepped down harder i could make it "go away" and i don't notice it around town either. so i'm thinking this seems more like pad transfer than warped rotors.
gonna try to rebed the pads to see if that helps. i read some other threads on this issue so i know i'm not alone, but i didn't see much on whether or not rebedding helped the other "shakey Evos". ????
also, the dealer said they wouldn't replace rotors since i'm at 13 months now. anyone know if that's really the cutoff?

hmm, well if it goes away then it does sound like pad transfer. maybe switching to different pads will be the way to go. i need to find a road where i can rebed mine without either attracting the cops or causing an accident....
my 05 gsr is having the same problem. shimmy braking from 70-80mph and 40mph. Dealer turned the rotors at 6k but didn't do anything to my pads which is weird. Shimmy came back again at 7k. I'm taking my ride back again next week.

to the original poster: yes rebed them properly before anything.
ppl, please don't run to mitsu for lil things like this and do NOT turn them. sorry to sound condescending, but i've seen inexperienced ppl on this forum blame the wrong components and panicking very often. it's just pad transfer and it'll go away 9 out of 10 times if u rebed them. that's what i do and it goes away for a while. just use ur brakes more aggressively once in a while and it won't come up again.

I had the shakey stuff too, i figured it was either the pads or rotors so I just bought new slotted and drilled rotors, ferodo DS-2500 pads, and goodridge brake lines.. and i need to rebleed my brake lines again but man these babies stop quicker then stock
