how about getting the wheels balanced. Check to see if all the wheel weights are still on. Not an alignment issue really. More of a balance issue. Speed balance will help. Mr.Tire does a speed balance.

Takes the wheeel up to 60 MPH and balance's them. Works pretty good.

an unbalanced tire can't be discovered by "checking the rims".

i had an unbalanced tire and my car shook after 60 mph.

its a quick fix if thats your problem

Shake like in the whole car shaking? Cause my pops got ihs wheels balanced and then i forgot what they did exactly, but they put the wheels on so tight. The whole car use to shake... we jus went back and told em to loosen it up.

Most likely you threw a wheel weight...

I see that you live in IL, so most likely either you've been driving in the snow and packed the wheels with ice, which will cause the shake, or in the process of driving through the snow, you knocked a wheel weight off the car.

road force balance
my guess is that your car was or has been sitting for a little while causing faulty and irregular weights on the wheels and thus you need to have a road force balance which is a new machine for this year and corrected mine.

does it only happen when you accelerate above that speed? meaning, starts shaking when accelerating and then stops shaking when off the accelerator?

It could either 2 things...Unbalanced tires OR you could have flat spots on certain parts of your tires...Flat spots occur if the car has been sitting for a while and has not moved..But the car has to be sitting for a LONG time to develop flat spots...Or the tires mite have a shifted belt inside the tire and that means you will need to purchase a new tire(s)..Just take it to a mechanic and let him give u his opnion

Ya if your in illinois with that snow storm that just came through its prob ice build up. Mine was shaking horribly this morning when i got to 40. I was freaking out but after parking in my schools auto garage to look for a flat or unbalanced wheels I realised it was just the snow. Sprayed it off and it was gone. Hope thats the only problem with yours.
