Enkei PKR

Rota Slipstreams are offered in 17 x 8.5, in black with a machined lip. www.TrackSourceLLC.com is where I'd get them.
9.5 will require a wide tire, and it sounds like you're on a budget. You sure you need such a wide tire?

well i should be around 500whp, so im not sure if the stock wheels and tires are going to be enough for traction, i figure a wider wheel and maybe 255 or 275 tires would be better.

A 255 will fit perfectly on an 8.5" rim. You don't need a 9 or 9.5" unless you are going to run 275's. Then you'll have other issues to work around such as fender rolling.
If you want a nice, light wheel for a good price I have 17x8.5 RPF1's I'm selling...way under 1k

If you watch ebay closely you can get a really good deal on those Rota Slipstreams. I picked up a set for $350 shipped. They may only be 17x8.5, but they will fit a 255 width tire and you'll have a hard time finding a better deal on a set of wheels.

Black Racing's 17x9 black spoke with polished lip. On Edgeracing.com I think, less than a G.

j/k!

Although the FN01R-C is one of the top 3 most popular wheels for the EVO, I know it is not everyone's cup-of-tea.

lol i knew someone was going to say something. they are very popular on here, but i just dont like how they look, although the 18x9.5 do look better than the other sizes due to the concave spokes.

well i wasnt sure, which is why i stated that on this thread. i, unfortunately, do no know any evos with this type of power. since the stock set up is ok, would getting wider wheels and tires be a significant improvement? im also considering 18x9.5 wheels that weigh 20lbs and 275/35 tires.

As far as tires go, I think you might find it easier to fit a 285/30/18 than a 275/35/18.

The added diameter of the 275's tend to create more clearance issues in the front than the added width of the 285's. Of course, it all depends on your specific set up. We don't have any problems with Kumho or Advans in 285, but to run 285 Hoosiers we need a bit wider spacer to get the tire to not hit the coils. My fav wheel right now is WedsSport SA-70 in 18x10, but it does not come in black/polished.

You should be able to get away with an 18x9 or 18x9.5 with a 265/35/18 with even less clearance issues than either of the larger sized listed above.

so should i stay with 17s or go with 18s? if i got 18s, they would be wheels that weigh 20lbs or less. im looking for the best overall performance for street/drag strip.
