Squealing RS

I started out having brake squeal with no brakes applied. I check the pads and the rears were really worn down, so I replaced front and rear with Hawk HPS. The front rotor had a serious lip that was wearing into the pad, I turned the front rotors. I use permatex ultra copper on the oem shims front and rear. After a few attempts of bedding in and use for about 1k my squeal while braking is gone.

Now I have squeal while no brakes are applied. When I brake it goes away and then returns as I let off the brake. If there is no squeal I can make a few steering changes and it comes back then goes away. The rear rotors have a small lip, but isnt affecting the rear pads like it did on the fronts. I may have it turned just, but dont want to waste money when the problem could be else where.

Saw a few threads that had similar issues and so the same questions dont arise:

No it doesnt happen when im stopped and I rev then engine.

No vibrations at the steering wheel, so I dont think its warped.

Any Ideas? Tomorrow I'm going to pull off the pads, use some brake cleaner, reapply some anti-squeal...might have the rear rotors turned.

i had the same prob on my 06 mr. drove me nuts! i just touched the brakes a bit whenever it started and it would go away. for about a minute! it happened mostly at low speeds, like around 20-30 mph. never figured it out, but it did motivate me to get the slotted rotors and pads i wanted. After i did that it went away. But, when i did do the brakes i used a high temp spray on ani-squeel. i made sure to spray it on the front and back of the pad shims and the back of the pads. never heard it again. i did notice though that when i took off the old pads the oem ani-squeel was about gone and where it still was there it was caked with dirt and brake dust. hope that helps.

I used to have that problem on my mr. The squeal was very quiet..but it was there. I believe its the lip on your rotor thats causing the squeal.

Soon....well after I get some new rotors. Don't really have much of plan on what I want though.

Used some brake cleaner and the sound mellowed. I'm pretty sure its the lip on the rear rotors. Just wanted to see if anyone encountered the same thing.

Wonder if anyone is using RacingBrakes shims? Kinda pricey, but they maybe worth it.
