Best handling spring for a MR

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to research the best handling spring for a Evo IX MR. I'm looking to
eliminate some body roll from the MR at the track but am not ready to step
up to full blown coilovers. With the springs I also plan on adding a perrin 25mm
sway bar. From what I've researched so far seems Espelier GT Springs have
the stiffest spring rates but are not designed with MR bilstein valving in mind.
I don't care about drop I just want the best handling spring that won't destroy
ride quality (I know it will get stiffer which is fine) and I don't want it to harm the
Bilsteins. Seems like Espelier, swift and works are the 3 main springs to consider.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated on which one to go with.

You said it right there. We know the swifts and works are proven winners on the track. Have heard people rave about Espeliers but no one has backed them up with track reviews.

You can't go wrong with SWIFT. The spring rate is designed to match with the Bilstein struts that came on the MR. The new Perrin 25mm rear swaybar w/ stout mounts is also an awesome upgrade.

I think someone posted that robispec recommends Espelier, Swift, and Works springs in that order.
Although it looks like it won't be ready till spring 07, I'm excited about GT Worx/Pro Comp springs.
There are rave reviews on their STi springs in suby forums.

best handling springs? Springs are for show. You need to get coils to have the best handling car...

has anyone done before and after laps with any springs to see if they actually had lap time improvements? most people i know with springs dont track they just say it "feels" better or "feels" worse. but feel doesnt necessarily mean better or worse at the track. just wondering not talking smack on springs or saying get coilovers. just wondering if anyone with the MR swift springs has an actual time improvement to show.

You have to get coils. The weight ratio has to be properly tuned for your car

everyone knows coils are better, but he already stated he didnt want them. at least not yet. besides its a huge investment for people that only track once in a while and may want an improvement in handling. personally i would never put springs on my evo but i still want to see if anyone has track times.

I understand but if he tracks his car then the investment will be HUGE in the long run.

Zero, my bfgs have 10k on them right now and prolly have 70% still.
Why would my running swifts make a difference on tires?
