we run 255/35-18s on 9's on the evo, without issue...

with your offset, you may get some touching upfront, unless you run a tiny bit of camber (2 degrees) which wont cause issue...

Won't the ride quality really suffer on the 255/35 tires?

why would the ride quality suffer?

35 is the percent of side wall to the width of the tire (basically)...

so (.35 x 255)/ 25.4 = 3.52

or 245/40

so (.40 x 245)/25.4 = 3.85

not a monster difference in sidewall height... plus... the wider tire, generally helps with ride quality... with the exception of a little more tramlining on bad pavement.

i stick to this (from our experience)..

8"wide wheel = 225-235
8.5"= 245
9"=255-265
9.5"= 265-275

etc....

i dont like stretching tires..

Oh ok, I was just wondering. A co-worker of mines was saying when he ran the 35 profile he could feel every bump on the road and didnt recommend it. But yeah its barely a .33" inches

You went with 9" and 18's might as well go 265. Neovas for sure if you can afford it.

what people dont understand is...

35 series is 35% of the width of the tire..

so a 35 on a 215 is tiny, compared to a 35 on a 295 for example....

one will look like a rubberband, the other a truck tire...

Did you have to roll your fenders for the 265? What offset?
