235/55 on stock rim?

Hey guys, can I run 235/55 on the stock rim?? What would be the issues? Looks/performance wise. I need tires cause one of mine is shot and my friend is selling a set of Pirelli P zero's to me in 235/55/17 help fast!! I want to know if I can do this.....Thanks guys

No, dude, don't try to use a 235/55 on an Evo - that's ***** nutty. Just get some proper tires - you don't need to buy them just because your friend is selling them.

actually....heres the situation....i have a tire showing steel....i start my new job in a week so i was trying to get some tires to last me 3-4 weeks until i started working....and he had these lying around.....its not a permanent thing but i didn't know if i could do it or not....im sorta in a bad situation .....but if its not gonna work then I wont do it....thanks for the fast reply

if you have exhausted all your other resources, it will be better than driving around with your belts showing. Make sure it will be a temporary thing though, and dont try to fly through corners with the sidewalls that much bigger

There are plenty of tires in 235/45 that are cheap. You could get decent performance tires for as little as 75 each at Tire Rack. No way should you put a 235/55 on it. They'd be total crap in handling, looks, etc.

Jesus are you taking this thing mudding? That sidewall is WAY too tall. I guess if you have stock suspension you could fit them.
