If done to the front:

1st it will mess with you scrub radius if you go too far.
2nd it will put higher stress on your wheel bearings causing them to wear out quicker/prematurely.
3rd since the wheel sticks out further it applies more force to the springs and shocks due to the larger lever effect.

The plus side is, it increases front grip.

re-reviving a dead thread, but...

if the chargespeed guys do it, it can't be all that bad right?

wrong. doing something just because someone else does it isn't exactly the best idea. asking why it's done goes a whole lot further.

did i say that i was going to do it because they did? no

i just stated that they do it, so there must be some reasoning behind it. obviously just a way out of getting a wider track without getting new wheels

I run +15 all around on my 9 i have done about 5 track events and have about 12000 miles on the car the rims have been on since day one.The car understeered terribly at first but after some suspension tinkering i was able to kill the understeer iam running -3.0 camber up front and -2.0 in back kw v3 robispec plus a27mm rear sway bar car handles great now and barely under steers at all. i imagine that if i were to put a higher offset wheel in the back th car would probably rotate a little better but iam preety happy right now and car looks great. Pretty soon i will probably buy arim set up that has etter offsets like +15 up front and +29 in the rear . Just wanted to put my input with crazy offsets.[IMG][/IMG]

Do whatever you like, if you think your car is anywhere close in terms of build or purpose to the HKS Evo.

i ran a 25mm spacer with stock wheels and it worked but that was on stock suspension and snow tires, a little more relevant, i ran a 25mm up front and a 10mm in the back on some 17x8.5 +30 ce28s and it worked fine

Glad you chimed in Robi - I'll be seeing you tomorrow with my new setup which includes the H&R spacers provided by Kyle.

Rest up!
