OEM Brake Pads
OEM Brake Pads
Well the time has come to change out my rear brake pads and the stealership wants 250.00 for the pads alone. I have read through all of the reviews of the Hawks, Axxis, Ferodo, and EBC as well as the Autozone and Pepboys. After searching around I have found that the Evo shares the same brake pads as a few other cars namely the 350z. Autozone, Hawk performance, and Napa all show the same part numbers for both cars. Has anyone used the 2003 350z coupe M/T Brembo 18" whl version brake pads from the Nissan dealer? Thet are quoting me at 99 bucks for the pad plus another 50 for the shim but I was just going to re-use my oem shims. Can someone chime in on this? I want to stick with oem just because I am not racing the car and am concerned about squeeling.
I wouldn't suggest getting parts for another veichle & trying to use them on yours.
Yeah, OE pads are pricey. I went with Hawk HPS and they are noisy, not all the time, but none the less, I bedded them correctly and used BG stop squeak with the oe shims. Not sure if I would get them again or not, I would probably try something else, but not PepBoys or AutoZone brand.

I suggest Ferrodo DS 2500 or Performance Friction Z pads. They seem to be the most popular along with the Hawk HP+ that were mentioned. They good for a DD / street and some spirited driving along with occasional track use.
I've been running the PF Z pads on my Evo with a mix of street and track and can't complain. Good price too.

you guys suck at reading.
if the part number is the same on the brembo pads from mitsu and nissan, why would you not want them for 99 bucks? i found a like new set of brembo pads on the forums and love them.. not a single squeek and cheap cheap!
i paid less then $100 for pads with 90% life left..
