RE-01R are indeed a better tire in every aspect. They may have the same treadwear of 140 but try the two on the track and see what does better .'

I'm rolling on some 245/40R17 and LOVE them.

I got them from discounttiredirect for about $680 shipped ($170 each). Had them mounted and balanced for $10 a wheel so another $40 with $10 tip...$730 total.

Local place wanted $190 a wheel with mount and balance so I saved a few dollars ordering online. You may not find a place to mount and balance for that cheap so you may want to shoot for a local place and bargain them down.

I know people are fitting 255's and what not on a 9 inch wide wheel, would putting a 245 on it be stretching it, or would it be fine? Thanks in advance.

245/40ZR18 will work on 8" - 9.5" wheels
255/35ZR18 will work on 8.5" - 10" wheels

245 on a 9" is fine

Haha thanks for catching that for me. I was typing to fast and meant to say the RE050 PP are a hair better in the rain but inferior in every other aspect. I just ordered mine a couple days ago in stock size, looking forward too them Good eye though

255 look so much better on a 9" rim. But be prepared to have to roll fenders depending on rim/tire/suspension combination.

Well I have the Tien springs which lowered it maybe an inch all around, and I have the 18x9 time attacks, do you think the fenders would need to be rolled with that set up?

255s are perfect in my opinion on my 18x9" +30 offset rims. I actually experienced no rubbing before and after my alignment. I'm dropped on Tanabe springs 1.5" F and 1.0" R and I have absolutely no rubbing on full lock in the front or in the rear on big bumps or hard turns. My alignment increased the camber to around -1.8 F and -1.2 R and I was thinking I may be able to run a 265/35 but that will probably require rolling the rears a bit. Depending on the tire a 245/40/18 will be taller and will cause more rubbing. If you want the RT615s and will have to roll regardless of 245/40/18 or 265/35/18 I'd go for the 265s!

PS The RTs in 245/40 don't look that stretched on a 9" rim, you have to look at the tire specs...I still feel a 255/35 is a better way to go on a 9" rim but it really depends on what kind of driving your doing...255/35 tires are limited cause it's not a popular size also.

What type of tein springs? There are two types. I believe H or S type. Time attacks are usually ideal fit for the evo. You should not have problems. Just my 2 cents.

It'll be one of the best decisions you could've made .

Goodyear Eagle F1 (the summer version, not all-season) are also great tires. Grip nearly as good as the stock Advans in the dry (you give up a little bit at turn in with vs. stock), awesome wet weather traction, good tire wear and they are very quiet compared to the stock Advans.

Which tire will give me a better ride with less road vibration through the steering wheel, the REO1R's or PS2's?
