Ok, I'll travel to you. I still want the same deal. Winer pays the losers expenses and buys them the set of tires that they win with.

You still game?

Just to be fair, if you are out to test snow tires.. you need to do stop tests.. If you make this into a race.. you are going to mess up the results because one of you might not be stock, or one of you might have better driving skill. Which isn't the point of this little test. Do 25,35,45 and 55 mph tests and measure from from the time the brakes are applied to the distance in feet.

Yes that was my plan to do the distance to a complete stop. Also a turning test to see who sticks the best on cornering, same speed same radius of turn to see who starts to slide. Then a fun little race just for kicks.
But right now it stopped snowing, was coming down hard. Hopefully it picks up again.

I have the same tires. I put them on yesterday for the upcoming snow season and I had them last year on my '03.....they are fantastic in the snow and give decent traction in the dry. I just wouldn't go as fast on exits since they tend to squirm a little bit.....

Wow! Lemmonhead, you're an idiot! Did your daddy start this company? Why do you have such an attitude towards Blizzaks? Did Blizzaks beat up your brother or something? Do you have some kind of vested interest in this company? You're taking this way too personal and I think you should relax a little bit.

Blizzaks aren't the best snow tires in my opinion, Vredesteins are! If you're so confident they are THE BEST snow tires out there, contact Neil from Tirerack and arrange to send a set to him. Or since you're in Missouri, drive to Indiana and test them on their closed course. Tirerack is very big on snow tires and I'm sure something could be arranged.....

+1 Since you said you "make bank" that shouldn't be a problem for you at all. Take it to some professionals and let them do the tests. If you are engineer than you should know that the fairest experiments are the ones with the most controls and least variables and since the two of you and your different cars already make up the majority of those unknowns racing each other around corners for past the stop sign is just stupid. Afterall, even the tire rack has never heard of them, so prove to all of us how amazing your tires and your judgement in buying those tires are by teaching The Tire Rack a thing or two. If not, then you're next post should be "thread closed" and go enjoy your tires and everyone else should go enjoy theirs.

As numerous people have stated, you're completely off base on your understanding of how winter tires work. These tires are basically slush/mud tires. They might be better than summer tires, or even "all-season" tires, but they are not optimized for snow - light or heavy. Snow tires actually use snow for grip, and big blocks don't retain snow, they fling it out. So you're constantly trying to refill the gaps, which means this tire is only marginally better than a slick.

Go to the UP, southern Ontario, northern New York, or northern Europe and look at the tires people choose. When it snows every day for 4-6 months, you can't afford crap tires. Most of those places, you'll find a lot of Blizzaks, WinterSports, Alpins, Nokians, and Hakkas... one might be led to believe they work in the snow.
