I bought my evo used back in Nov(2007). It was in-serviced May 2007, and has since had no modifications done to it. Bone Stock '06 MR. The car was female driven and in imacculate condition when i picked it up, aside from some very light scratches on one of the wheels (stock BBS). I noticed the other day when washing it that my driver-side tire has the steel underwebbing (not sure what the techincal term is called) exposed. In some parts, it's up to about a quarter inch wide. I'm highly concerned and dont want this tire blowing out on me while I'm driving. I've never 'burned out' and aside from the occasional cloverleaf on/off ramps I dont drive it too rough either. None of the other tires are in that bad of shape (all stock ADVANs). As this is my first car that I can call my own, I've never been in this situation before..I know warranty doesn't cover normal use of a vehicle, but the car only has about 11,000 miles on it, and this seems to only be happening on one tire.
Now the common response seems to be "alignment" issues, but to my knowledge the owner had the tires realigned after 4,000 miles and I had planned to get it done at my next oil change (12,000 miles). Is it possible to have this issue resolved with warranty or am I going to have to pay for a new tire?

If its only one tire, then maybe. However, advans are good for only 10K-15K miles before needing replacement. If the wear is on the inside of the tires, don't waste your money on alignments, the wear is normal. You just need to rotate them every 2.5K-3K miles to get optimal milage out of them. Again, if only one tire is like that, then there is an issue.
The stock Advan's are known to last only 10,000-20,000 miles due to there low tread wear rating i think its 180. If your hitting that same turn everyday pretty hard it could wear out one tire before the others and that could be why only one tire is showing the steel. Useless the alignment is bad.
change your tires, and check your alignment again for the peace of mind..
i had a similar problem, at the front passenger side, i changed all 4 with brand new tires, goodyears, got alignment, and that front passenger side wheel, the toe was way off...

I can't argue with any of the comments above, but I would caution you strongly not to drive on that tire; it sounds very dangerous to have the steel belts exposed, not to mention illegal.
Trust me.............it happend to me. I actually had my replacement tires in the trunk going to the tire shop.

Alignment. Time for 4 new tires. Welcome to the joy that is owning an Evo. Oh, and don't drive on that tire.
You have to get your alignment checked AT LEAST every six months, or every time you hit a pothole, bump, or other assorted street hazard. Basically, the guy who says, "Well, I got it checked last year!" is asking to shred some tires now and then. To save yourself some frustration, buy a set of these and check your toe every other week if you want.

If you are interested, there is a good special on standard Evo sizing:

If it blows out it will destroy your fender and possibly do other collision type damage to the car. I had a blow out at highway speed in my Z28 when I was 18, it just about tore the fender off of the car, it pushed the fender out about 3" from where it was and stripped all the paint from the fneder outside of the wheel opening.

thanks. i took it to a tire guy down the road and he looked at it. said it wasn't good and needs to be replaced. going to get a (ONE) new tire tomorrow AND the tires realigned. But he seems to think it's something with perhaps the suspension because it is really bad on that one tire...the other ones are FINE, thus i will not replace them.
