Tein coils are a good bet. Ohlin would be my first choice if money wasnt a object

Ok, was going to or der JIC race coilovers from kingkyle but they were out of stock or something like that..

So.. now i need to quickly order some "race" coilovers for track use from someone else, i want some good coilovers also in the 1500-2000$ price range, spring rate about 10-12k.

Will also buy some wheels like NT03 17x9,5 or similiar (5zigen, etc)
So the dealer must sell both wheels and coilovers
Please give me some pointers.

thanks.

living in sweden, the only coilover you want is going to be ohlins, 1 because they are just about one of the best coilovers you can get for the evo, 2 to get them rebuilt, you can send them down the street.
i have ohlins single adjustables and havent put them on yet but craftsmanship is top notch, this year the majority of evos that won trophy positions at autox nationals were on ohlins so they are proven to work also. i will be running somewhere between 14 and 16k springs with a higher rate in the back

is this car going to be used mostley for track? if so the only wheel choice you want is going to be an 18x9.5, the 17's arent as efficient because the tire choices are worse and you get more sidewall flex, get a set of 18x9.5 nt03+m and save yourself the hastle of trying to ge tthem down the road, also seriously, get ohlins

Hi and thanks for your reply

The car will be used mostly for track but not only..

I don't want 18 inch wheels because I don't want to use spacers or do fender rolling.

Öhlins coilovers are too expensive for my budget..

You should visit the motorsports forum instead of this one. You should list how much you have to spend on hardware and how much you are willing to spend on dialing them in.

Being in Sweden it may be hard to get anything we recommend.

We've gotten a lot of international orders lately with how bad the US dollar is.....

My choice for this case would be KW's.

Hi Andrew/GTWORX

I would like harder spring rates on the KW:s than 8/7.. more like 10/12 or 12/14.. is that possible?

Do you have the 5zigens or enkei nt03 in 17x9 or 17x9,5?

If you can get me these parts i will most prob be a customer soon..

If you are looking for custom race spec coilovers, STANCE suspension has the GR+ Pro SS-D with the 14k/12k spring rate with custom valving.
These coilovers are meant for cars with high grip/race compount tires.

Is there really no one that can point me to a company that sells both a nice 17x9,5 inch wheel like ENKEI NT03 or RPF1 and also sells some tough suspension at about 2000$ with spring rates like 10k/12k??

Help!

you can go to tougefactory.com they have wheels you are looking for [i see it in the showroom] and they have stance coilovers that are below your $2000 price point. I dont know about the spring rates. im pretty sure that they have the ones that are specific for the evo [i am getting a set of stance COs on my evo8 ^_^ ] use the search and you can see ppl talking about the stances in the forums ^_^

Most of the people on this forum are from the US. You're probably better off contacting local Swedish vendors on combo deals. If you are looking for quality coilovers for under $2k that support 10k/12k spring rates then its going to be a very hard find.

Ohlins Sportline DFVs, KW V3, ZZYZX EM series when including camber plates and rear pillow ball mounts will probably easily run over the $2k mark. The Bilstein PSS-9 will be cheaper but will also be softer and are built with regular steel (rust). Unfortunately in this game the rule of thumb applies, you pay for what you get.

If you can work out a deal on KW V3 coilovers with GTWorx. Check out this US based website for some nice deals on rims.

Good luck.
