ahh crap...

I got a flat tire somehow. I don't think I ran over anything, no nails. Just was driving and went flat. I went to the dealer and they said it's not covered under warranty. I already new this but tried anyway. They said to go to a yokohama dealer cause there is a warranty from them. Does anybody know if any of this is true? I only have 1600 miles on them and the car. It would suck to buy a new tire when I just got the car. Maybe they can be repaired, but I didn't see any holes. Dammit!!

Well I just read some warranty information from yokohama. It seems as though it can be replaced or repaired for free. As it happened for no obvious reason. Just went flat. I will see on monday. Any insight guys? I hope that these tires are covered under this. These are passenger tires. Man, I hope i'm right about this.

If in fact it is a manufacturing defect, it should be covered by the warranty so it should not cost you money but it will cost you time.

If it has any holes whether or not you can see them, any regular tire shop should be able to find it once they put the wheel and tire under water. I think this will be your best bet while you check to see if Yokohama will give/send you a new tire for this mishap. This way you will at least have a car to drive around in.

Goodluck and keep us posted.

I didn't had a flat but after washing my Evo, I noticed a 1 inch nail stuck on my rear driver side tire. I only got 800 miles on my Evo and already got a hole on the tire. I was so pissed. But hey **** happens. So I was gonna bring it to Discount tire to fix it for $25. Then my brother told me I can easily fix the hole by getting a tire fix kit from Autozone for $4. I was surprised and amazed after fixing it. My Evo has 2275 miles now and the tire still good and doesn't lose any air. So I suggest to you that find where the hole is and get a tire fix kit at Autozone and you can do it yourself. Hope this help.

A body fits. I got stuck in there installing my sattelite radio. lol. I just found warranty information with the owners manual. It seems like my tire is a defect. No abuse or foul play or debris or repairs. I only have a little over 1600 now, so it should be covered. I will let you guys know tommorow when I go to a tire shop.

If in fact it is a manufacture warranty issue, any authorized Yokohama dealer will be able to take care of you. Being a high performace tire they are very sticky. Unfortunately, this causes them to pick up debris pretty easily, like nails or screws. I would have dunk the tire fully inflated in water. Have them check the bead area of the wheel for proper seating, valve stem, etc. If there is a hole, and you want to repair it, make sure they use a patch plug. This will insure a safe and durable repair.

thank you for the info neal. I stopped by mr. tire just now. They said they are going to take a look at the tire and let me know if it is a warranty issue. If not I hope they can patch it up. Riding on a donut is annoying.

This is a very old thread, but I felt compelled to throw this out there. I will be posting it in the tire/wheel section immediately after Im done with this. I work for Costco Wholesale. Im sure you all know the company, we are spread far and wide over the country and the world as well. If you are a member, this applies to you-if you are not, you may want to consider getting a membership-and I will tell you why. Look for the thread that says "Important Tire Mounting Information"
