Sap I appreciate it. I just took it for another ride. Had five people in it. The rear was tucked deep, maybe an inch from the rim. Yet it didn't bottom out and stayed smooth over the rough stuff. It was very beautiful.
I mean, for being that low and not being bouncy, not bottoming out, wow.
Now for some volk ce28's 18x8 in bronze, what offset? 30,33,35,38,40? What won't touch the struts, won't rub the fender, and will clear the brembos? And who has the better price?

Cedric

Hey sap, leave your mom out of this.

Here is another pic from Qualcomm stadium!

Go here: http://rayswheels.co.jp/cgi-bin/cgi/...odelName=CE28N It's a table from the RAY'S website, tells you what offset you should use on a bunch of cars specifically for the CE28N. You could find more wheels and tables here: http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/emenu/wheel.html Just click on the wheel you like then click on Size Table.

And thanks for posting that pic with the yellow and blue WRX's and your Evo. Just replace the blue WRX with a blue R34 GTR V-Spec II and make the Evo white and it'll be my wet dream

Hey crazy thanks for the info on the volks. I guess I'm looking at 18x8 with a 33 offset. Now who to order from?

The height adjustments can be as simple as raising the spring. But I think that if you adjust the whole strut you won't sacrifice ride quality. Is that right Sap?

Anyways its nice that there are two places where you can adjust ride height, either the spring alone or the entire strut. I know you can dump it even more or raise it twice than that of stock.

I mean look at the other "best coilover thread". The guy with the ralliart coilovers I believe paid $1900, I got these for $1800 shipped. If you look close at the picture the ralliarts are at the lowest setting. How low is that? 1", 2" drop? That's it, your done. I'm not saying they're bad, I just think JIC are better!

There is a very cool guy also named Chris that runs F1 Motorsport. Check with IS2000 (Mark) for his info. He discounts Volks and other good wheels and tires. I am going through him for either the TE-37T or BBS RGR when I get them.

adjusting the lower portion of the strut allows you to keep the smae amount of suspension travel... which is what i am looking for...

1800 shipped...? from who...? Vivid...?

The ride is unbelievable. I have the settings set pretty soft and they are softer than stock! The ride height is also tucked. The height that it is set to is about 1 finger in the front and dead even in the rear. The ride is smooth. The stock ride is stiffer. Now on turns there is a little more roll, but if you want the stiffer ride, a few turns and your there. The rear settings are 4 clicks from softest, and the fronts are 8 clicks from softest.

I vote JIC for best coilovers for the price. They are nice and shiny too!

Cedric
1st Question: What are the stock spring rates on the Evo?

You said that you have the dampening settings set pretty soft and the ride is softer than stock. I've got JIC's on my Eclipse and even with the dampening settings set to 1 (of 19) all around the ride is still quite a bit stiffer than stock. My stock spring rates were 180 lbs/inches and my JIC spring rates are 480 front/380 rear.

2nd Question: With your rear dampening set to 4 and your front set to 8 you have more body roll than with the stock suspension?

Even with my dampening set to 1 all around the amount of body roll is dramatically reduced compared to stock. I keep my dampening set to 9 in the front and 8 in the rear which gives nearly ZERO body roll and the most neutral setting I've found.

From what your saying I can only conclude that the Evo's stock suspension is vastly superior to that of the 3rd Gen Eclipse's suspension. Figures though, mitsu sells 70% of its new Eclipse to female drivers.

One last thing: In order to keep your JIC's nice and shiny your gonna need a lot of WD-40. With ANY coil-overs your supposed to spray down the threaded portions with WD-40 to prevent any warping in the threads. If you live in an area which uses salt to melt snow your gonna have to spray them down every damn day.........I wish I lived in Cali.
