Falken Rt 615

Dunlop Z1 * Specs
Re01R

Im torn between 2 tires, RE11 and NT05s

these will be my street setup with some track events

Size in mind: 255/45-40/17

Input?
From my research, the only other tire worth running instead of the Z1 Star Specs are the Advan Neova AD08's, which I think have the best reputation now, but they're going to run you an extra $200 per set, so it just depends on how much that slight improvement in performance is worth to you.

i never said i was going to pick up a set of RT615, just mentioned that i had them so no one will recommend them... mind u, alot of people still recommend rt615s

my question was simple.... NT05 or RE11

thats it

In the end its your money, your car. Buy whichever ones you like, but the star specs are a really great tire and all the faster cars are using them out here. I have been using them all season and am really happy with the star specs. Out of all the tires I have used these have worked the best. They are not as finicky about tire pressures when they get hot as much as the ecsta xs's were( I know it wasnt on your list). They dont squeal as much at the limit, give excellent traction, and although is not a rain tire it incorporates dunlops signature directional tread design which is better for wet than a assymetrical. So if you happen to do an autox or track day with it being a bit wet you have a little more margin of grip.
I dont have experience with the nt05 or re11, but one thing I have found to look out for is the quality of the material used in the tires itself. The dunlops have stayed soft during this race season whereas the ecstas I had last season were progressively turning into rocks with more heat cycles. Its not bad to try something else, its just money. I would say try the re11, imo a higher quality tire than nitto.
