Question Tein Evo S-Tech springs??

Anyone know anything about the Tein STech springs for the Evo? Options has 'em for $150, and I ordered them based on Tein's reputation and the price. Tein's web site says 2" front and 1" rear. I'm trying to decide if I want to put them on or go for Tanabe's which don't drop the front that much. The spring rates on the TEINS are questionable too. Any help would be appreciated.

pics found

Okay, I can't be the only person looking for stuff on the Tein Evo STechs. Found some pics at the Tein website (technical information):

Opinions? I got mine from Options but haven't installed them yet.

I had both of their coilover system (Tein type HA w/ pillow mount setup) and their S-tec springs on my Impreza. I had the s-tec on my car for about 6 months but it was too bouncy w/ the stock shocks.. and wasn't the ride i was looking for. So I went with their coilover system afterwards.
IMHO, the S-tec springs are good springs. it makes the car look very aggressive, but I don't think the stock shocks will withstand the spring rate changes and will bottom out eventually. The best way is to change the shocks at the same time.. or go w/ their coilover systems.

I think the spring rate on the S-Tech is softer than stock. I'd pay a little more for the Basic Dampers (height adjustable coil-overs), which is about $800 a set.

Actually the S tech springs are deisnged for the Us market primarily and are further designed around the stock struts!

And be careful on pricing..yes Options has em for $150...shipping to the East Coast ranges from 30 to $110 !

Our price is $190 shipped anywhere in the US and we are a supporter here

That's right Z1, we have them for the same price as well. They are a good alternitive to coilovers but limited too.

So does that mean the S Tech springs selling here are firmer than the stock one and the one selling in Japan? I'd like to get one of these but I'm concern about that would be bouncy if it is softer than stock springs.

What is the stock spring's spring rate anyway? Can anyone confirm?

Thanks!
