I have 18x9.5, using only 10mm spacers in the front and have no clearance issues. The car sits on coilovers and has no rolled fenders. Tires are 275's.

Bump for a great wheel, no complaints here.

I will let all of you know how this setup turns out. 17x10 +18F and +38R with 2mm spacer with 255 or 265's undecided. I do plan adjusting my fenders however...

i have been looking into getting these and mounting 255/40-17 Dunlop Star Specs to them for autox.

is there any benefit to running a wider wheel w/ the same width tire? The 8.5s should be a little lighter and cheaper. tirerack claims they fit w/o spacers. i dont know if there are rubbing issues running this wheel/tire combo.
I run that same wheel and tire combo and have no issues without spacers. I've auto-x'd them a lot and did a track day as well.

Some pics of how they look:

I'm curious about any rubbing at full lock(front), or under full compression(rear.)

I'm thinking of going with a set of RPF1's in 17x9.5 +18F and +38R with 255's and call it a day. I really don't want to touch the fenders unless I have to.
Thats my car and the 17 X 10 look sweet but I only use them for track days, I have no rubbing @ all.

13mm spacer in front
3 mm spacer spacer in rear.
No fender rolling, but did put extended studs on the front.

I have personally run this setup with 17x9.5 +38 all around, Kics +20mm spacers in front, with 245 and 255 width tires. I can tell you from first hand autoX experience and good reults that I don't think 9.5" is too wide at all, even for 245s, and especially not for 255s. Of course some of this is depending on driving type and style.
I never had any issues with my Kics spacers/studs. They never lost any significant tq. on the nuts when I check them throughout the season, including the second season following winter, which I kept them on for. The only kind of annoying part is that the center bore for the RPF1s is smaller than tyhat of the stock Enkeis. This means that with the spacers in front, the wheel is not mounted on the hub center, just the studs. This scares some people, but I never had any prolems for 1.5 years of autcrossing, a few track sessions, and literally DAILY driving. you could use the optional extended hub centers with the Kics, but since the stock Enkeis center bore is smaller than the bore on the RPF1s, I didn't use those because I didnt wan't to have to remove the spacers if I wanted to use my stock wheels.
No rolling, trimming, or pulling.
I also think +18 effective offset in front is perfect. It never rubbed with my 255s. +38 is great in back with room to spare without being sunken in. The +18 and +38mm reverse offset stagger results in altered turn-in characteristics.
A lot of people question 245s on a 9.5. 245 is the limit for SCCA STU class, which is very popular. Not all 245s and 255s etc are created equal or measure the same, so keep that mind. I don't think my 255s Azenis were much bigger than my 245 Z1s or Neovas, if at all. contrary to what people may think, the 245 on a 9.5 is not absurdly stretched (OEM Bimmers and Audis look about the same). More importantly, it handled extremely well and was very capable of winning. It also looks awesome.

I hope that covers it.
