are all the evo balljoints the same size?

So I had started a thread about my rear upper a-arm ball joints starting to go out. Looks like mitsu wants $271 my cost, for each side, as they only sell the whole arm complete. I was thinking here, maybe a dumb thought, but I was thinking about swapping out my good front lower arm ball joints--swap in the whiteline roll center ball joints on the fronts. Then take the stock ball joints and mount those on the rears. Would work, ya, if they are the same size. I was thinking about getting the roll center kit from whiteline anyhow, and the stock balljoints would just be laying around. Might as well put them to good use.hehe. Thoughts please-- im looking to avoid replacing the whole arm just for a damn balljoint.

I have the same problem as you, autozone said they had the ball joint for 60 each. I haven't tried them yet.

Won't work.

The rear balljoints have a taper and a threaded part to hold them in while the fronts are straight and have a little notch ground in them for the pinch bolt.

Once you've seen them side by side you'll see straight away.

it could be visible when the boots leak you can see grease seeping out, or residue like a wet area around the balljoint. It can be faulty internally without necessarily having a leak. To test for that you would have to test for free play up or down movement. Same thing for testing endlinks that could be bad but no leak. I just get a rubber mallet and tap in the swaybar. you will hear the endlink rattle or vibrate a little too much, you have to look closely, but it will have a bit of too much freeplay. These ways have worked for me anyways, hope this helps.

IDK if I have the same problem but I hit an uneven paved road on the street about a month ago at 45mph and like 1 min later I started hearing these clunking noises when I slow down in gears or let off the throttle. I took it to the dealership and they couldn't see anything visually and they said they would have to do a tear down of the car. I am going after the city for this but I am also thinking of taking it in for warrantee instead.
