Just curious if the Bilstein HDs need to be revalved to fit with the Swift springs? I read on other thread that if installing the Swift springs on the stock MR Bilstein, the struts should be revalved. Is this true with the HDs?

Thanks in advance

Eric

No and no.

Swift MR versions and MR Bilsteins work great together out of the box.

HDs do not need a revalve either.

Revalve is not needed, it's an awesome set-up with the standard valving. The revalve just makes it more awesome-er.

Just installed by bilstien / spec-r setup from Andrew and GTWorks! What a nice setup, so much better than I thought an evo could feel. Comfortable on the street with just the right amount of firmness, not the harsh and jarring feeling I was used to with my coilovers. My car handles better and feels more comfortable, with a nice ride hight too.

Great customer service from GTWorks as well, could not be happier.

You were told wrong. I am on Bilstien's with Spec R's, FN01R-C 17x9 +35 wheels with Dunlop star-spec Z1's 255/40/17. This has been my HPDE setup for the past year with no issues whatsover as far as rubbing.

Your car came out great man

This is like the exact set up that i was going to run but have a question so here it is:
I have stock (Evo 9 SE) struts so do i stick with those and just get the swift sport OR
is it worth it to go ahead and get the Bilstein HDs with the swift spec-r?
Also, what about a revalve with the stock struts?

Thanks in advance for your help.

KYBs cannot be revalved.

KYBs can support the SpecRs also. If you are into really spirited driving or AX - SpecRs. If just a daily driver, Sports. I tracked and AX'd on the Sports before the SpecRs. Worked well there too. But thats at their limit. SpecRs are much better for AX/HPDE.

Old thread but do the MR Swift Spec R springs or GSR versions match up better to Bilstein HDs?

One more question. Do the Bilsteins come with bumpstops or do you reuse the OEM ones?

Just do the SpecR's, you'll be glad you did. Either one works perfectly fine though.

Not sure about the bumpstops, someone else will have to chime in on that one.

I want the Spec R springs but there are 2 versions (MR and GSR). I'm asking which matches better with Bilstein HD struts.

You have to reuse the bumpstops. I don't remember if I got the MR or GSR springs - I think they were the MRs.

Smike has a similar setup. I wonder if he can chime in or whether to use the MR or GSR springs.
