bent rims :X
bent rims :X
i drive a 06 evo9 RS
so the other day went to the alignment shop because my evo keeps on leanin to the right and i got fed up wit getting alignments every other month. My suspension is MR struts and springs and perrin rear sway bar kit
so i found out my rims are bent (3 out of 4) !!! i wanted to know what problems may have accured to my braking or suspension do to this curveball that has been thrown at me
i wanted to know if the evo8 rims r stronger then the evo9 ones im more into the style of the evo8 rims neways lol
any insight would be great !!

wheels
I bought mine used and had a similar problem, it really sucked driving over 60 mph, it felt like the car was going to rattle itself to pieces.
I had one bent wheel that was not fixable because it was "center bent" according to quiksilver, which they explained was the spoke/hub area was actually out of whack, not just the outer hoop. I ended up replacing it with a used wheel from a member on here, and things have been great since then.
The point made about the bent wheel accelerating the wear on the wheel bearing is also true, so its good to fix this as soon as reasonably possible.
If you are looking for stronger rims, anything forged is going to be more durable, so you may want to pick up a used set of MR BBS wheels, and then you could just have your tires swapped since they are the same size.
As far as what can cause the damage, take your pick - potholes, construction, speed bumps(if you go to fast), sliding into a curb, anything too abrupt for your suspension to handle.

Same issue here myself. It pisses me the F*** off about all the construction, pot holes and other stuff.
I just got new tires - the alignment shop said the same thing. My wheels are PC gloss black. Might be an incentive for me to get a set of forged 18" wheels.
But then what to do with my new tires?!?! *sigh*
