Really glad your ok man, thats scary . Was the body maybe not threaded into the mount far enough?

P.s. I like how you have your hood painted thats pretty sweet.

We did revise our shocks in late 08, but definitly not due to a defect. We changed the seal design to a new double seal design, changing the internal honing process for the shock bodies, enlarged the piston, changed piston ring manufacturers, and changed the coating on the shock body to better withstand the elements. We have not seen this happen as well unless the car was in an accident, so how this can happen is a question to us as well.

If the mount is not threaded on the required 1 1/4" it is possible to allow the lower mount to pivot if not fully tightened by the lower lock.

im a dealer for k sport at my shop and i sell alot of them for hondas. i have seen they changed them also in the past few months. they work very well on honda's and i plan to get the new revised set for my evo. i can tell the op had older one's cause they are orange and the newer ones are black with orange parts. Brandon at auto line aka Ksport is a very good guy and im sure if anyone that has a older set is scared they are going to break he would work something out with them..

could it be because that not so cheap brand is made in the same factory that the cheap brands are made in?

could be.....but to be honest it doesn't matter....the valving is terrible so i wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole anyway. and yet still some people "swear by them."

I was just reading through this thread and this one post caught my eye. I am curious to how many people have had this problem with their K-sports? A tein coil over broke on me a couple years back and they would not even give me the time of day. I am just glad to see a company take care of the incident so well. I do not believe tein is the best company after my issue with there product but i know how good of a reputation they have created over the years and believe my strut break was just a freak incident like this guys probably was.

Buying good products is worth the money most of the time. But products being put down because of one post on the internet does not make it a bad company. I used to have teins, now have JIC on my sti, and am now in the market for some ksports for my evo. -Marmot

I've heard of multiple cases of Ksports breaking in half.
