After reviewing all these comments to my original post, I believe I will be going with 245/40/17 for my tires. Now it is on to what a good time is to use. I have been looking at the yokahama s-drives and hankook ventus evo tires.

Don't do it. 255/40 is the way to go. 245/40 is too short, and 245/45 is too tall. 255/40 is the perfect replacement size for a stock wheel.

i'm in a similar situation... stock wheel/stock ride height, the car is driven less than 10k miles a year highway/city.

i'm thinking dunlop direzza... but what size? on the car right now are 235 45 but i want a change.

I am looking to go with new rims eventually.. I want more of an agressive look to the car. I would like to get wheels that stick out a little more, along with the tires of course. What size rim do I need...? 9 or 9.5"??

Disagree on 255/40 for the street. But I also disagree on the 245/40 (gearing).

For DD, stock size. You wont notice the ultimate grip of the 255/40s, but you will notice the increased weight in turn-in response.
