Okay smart guy, what are the rates of the springs then? Hmm dono right so if you don't know what you started with then change it how is that any better? I am not tring to bust your ***** but changing this when you don't know what you are trying to fix is kinda dumb. I guess I can say 2 things that are good, They are green so they are perfect for christmas, and they lower the car so it looks Kool. [/QUOTE
Trying to "fix"?. I'm not trying to "fix" anything. I'm modding my Evo, and I have practical reasons for doing so. And even if I didn't, why would it matter to you?
The rates of the springs for the S-Techs:
MITSUBISHI Lancer EVO VIII
CT9A 03+ STECH SKR84-AUB00
$200.00 3.8/Front212lbs 5.2/Rear291lbs
Amazing what you can do in 5 minutes (www.tein.com)
I actually have these springs on my car. Why did I change them? After having had other cars at Mid Ohio (BMW 330i, Mini Cooper S) I know what the advantages and disadvantages of lowering springs both on and off the track.
My car has several other suspension mods, rear strut bar, rear sway bar, end links and front chassis brace. These make the Evo handle better on the track, while not making the car overly stiff for street driving. I don't drag race, but my car makes 350 whp with the stock turbo on 93 octane. That's probably high 11's with a good driver -- so what, I'm a road racer. The fact the car looks better sure doesn't hurt things any, but that isn't the reason I lowered the car. Green ain't my color, oh well I guess I'll live with it. Before you make blanket statements about what you have no practical experience with ("these both suck") keep in mind some of us do. My point was that your post does nothing to help those who might be interested, for whatever reason, in buying or getting information on a product for their car. tweakdsm understands, and he speaks for many others.

Must be good stuff if you have to cut the bump stops and the springs. Also what is the rate of the stock springs? 200 is softer then stock and I was thinking 400-600 at LEAST. I have seen other cars with 600-1000 on there car. But to each there own. If you don't know the stock rates you really don't know if it is better or no, also I would want a linier spring not a progressive. But who knows. I think when I do my Moton I will post what I did, why I did it, and how it works.
I just checked out there site and the high end stuff is from 5-600 on the spring rate but what do I know. Enjoy your sofa on wheels.

Sure stock shocks will hold 2" drop but after a while they get damaged inside, they might leak or get really soft so the ride will get worse. You cut the bump stops only because of pot holes (as everone knows) Suspension is my first thing on my list, any car i owned before i did suspension first on my 2 previous turbo dsms and even vr6 jetta, I just cant stand height, and handling and 4x4 look..
I seriously couldn't tell the difference in performance in the handling after I lowered it with the tanabes. As a matter of fact, it handled nasty with a lot of body roll in the rear and a sloppy feel until I did a alignment in which they found that the alignment was off and the toe in the rear was way out of whack as well.
After alignment, the car feels pretty much like how it felt before it got dropped. Moral of the story, if you like how a lowered car looks, lower it but make sure alignment is ok afterwards.
