Tanabe springs vs. Tein S-Techs
I went to purchese the High-tech's and the shop had both the High tech's and S-Tech's there. After talking to a number of people who have had both springs (and not listening to DynoKing who will try and talk you into a $10,000 race set-up that I don't want to pay for or live with day to day) I decided on the S-Techs. I do auto crossing and a good bit of track / aggressive driving and the S-Tech's were a better set-up. I have to admit that when the car came off the lift I kind of freaked out on the height of the car (it was super low), but just be very careful and always pull into spaces backwards and go slow over speed-bumps.
Now on ride quality, I know for sure that it handles better. I have a lot of roads I've been driving for #'s of years and can drive with my eyes closed. I have always taken all of my cars down this road to test things like handling and speed when I make a change and have a pretty good knack for feeling little differences of where the tires break lose, when and what speed I get understeer, how fast and what speed I can get to at certain points and how to push it to break the back end out. With the lower center of gravity and a -1 camber front and back (yes better then stock with same camber adjustments) it is a sizable difference, not as big as if I spent money on a better suspension, but that will come latter. The understeer is a lot less, I feel less body roll and full control of car (breaking lose when I want or just being able to pull out of the apex perfectly). I would suggest them if you want a good lowered look and better handling. If your worried about bumps or like the huge wheel gap on stock then these aren't for you. I will post pics soon of the car and latter when I take it out to the track or autocross I will give a better review.
P.S. DynoKing (Ryan) I know you have some good knowlage of suspension (just check out his post hoaring on this same discussion before) but some of us don't have $10,000 to spend on suspension or the money for doctor's bill for our backs while driving these cars daily with a 600 spring rate, mines really to hard for most people as it is.

Funny thing is that the back was higher then the front stock and therefore had a bigger gap anyway, now it's even all around. I can put 2 fingers in the gap (small fingers) and have hit some major bumps and turns and haven't rubbed yet. I was planning on taking pictures today or tomorrow anyway for a project, so I'll post those as soon as I'm done.

ad lib,
Yo, that looks dope! How much were the springs. I was thinking about slapping those H-Techs on my ride when i get my tax return. Know any vendors on this site that will hook it up?

here is 935motorsports price.. a bit higher price than the previous site..
http://www.935motorsports.com./evolutionsprings.htm
for this one just scroll down.. and you can see my car with the tenabes... guess they liked my car
It seems to me that there are at least two different models of Tanabe Springs. The www.optauto.com/webstore/product_information.asp site is selling Tanabe GF 210's and the other site listed here: www.935motorsports.com./evolutionsprings.htm is actually selling Tanabe GF072's--- These must be different and offer different drops. Can anyone confirm. Maybe this is the reason for the price difference.

optauto had em for 165 i think after all was said and done it was like 180 shipped.
Also just FYI not sure if its just my rims or what but I rub every once in awhile with a 245 series tire...might wanna rock 235 series just in case (this is obviously if you are going with an 18" rim).

Well, i just got my car lowered with the Tein S-Techs and I love them, im glad I went with them. The car feels even better taking sharp turns, it handles better IMO. Also I love the look, the fender gap is gone and the ride is better than I expected, it is not bouncy at all, it is just about as stiff as stock. I am very satisfied with them. I will try to get some pix up asap.

thx...
