As opposed to most clunks, I KNOW what the problem is, meaning the spring binding on the bottom then slipping when turning the wheel causing a clunk

My question is WHY?????
I installed the right the same way as the left and I realized it was a little harder to put the spring compressor on that left spring than the right one because the coils seemed closer together . Both top hats seemed to be seated all the way down too
so does this sound like a spring problem or installation problem or what?
Are you sure the springs are the same right to left ? Sounds like you are describing them as being different. Usually the Eibach come with a label or printed number on the spring.. check to see if they are the same.
Also were the springs the same length when you had them off the car prior to install? . Again Eibach makes different spring lengths, that is part of the number also.
Hope this helps.

Sounds like an install problem. Check the top hat to ensure it is properly tightened. Check to ensure the springs are in their proper location. Check to ensure all other suspension bolts are tight.

ya they were up and bolted properly. I even had the shop check. The top hats were in all the way.
Same spring height though the wind did look different
