Bilstein Struts/Shocks
Bilstein Struts/Shocks
It's been a while since I've browsed these boards and have lost track of all the new shocks/strut combos out there, so maybe someone can bring me up-to-date on what's out there.
I've always been looking at the bilstein MR shocks/springs and looking to put that onto my evo 9. Like before it looks like the dealership still rapes you at over $2k, so I saw on tire rack that they have a "heavy duty" for front&rear and they have a "sport" for only the rear. My question is how do the "heavy duty" ones stack up to the OEM MR strut combo. and also is there a plan for the "sport" edition to come out for the front?
Thanks for the help.

I have a 06 Evo IX MR with the Bilstein suspension, but I changed the springs out with Swift Spec R springs and they are Awesome for how cheap they are compared to coilovers. I highly recommend
Do you know if the springs/struts that tire rack sells as bilstein heavy duty are the same ones that come stock on the MR?
They are not the same ones that come stock on the MR but they are pretty equivalent and are a great option. If you want brand new go with the HD's, if you wanna save a few bucks pick up some used MR's...Can't go wrong with either one and there are a ton of people running both with great resluts.
The MR struts and the HD's are very similar in valving. As stated, you really can't loose either way. Swift SpecR's or GTWorx springs are the way to go if your gonna use the Bilsteins. I just installed the MR/GTWorx combo on my car and I'm very satisfied with it.

Hate to bring back an old thread, but, how is the ride quality, comfort wise, compare to the factory springs?
