On the topic of ct9a chassis weakpoints, do the perrin rear sway bar stout mounts really make that much of a difference? The sway bar bracket that its replacing doesnt actually need to be that sturdy as it looks like where its bolted onto the subframe is already really stout. It seems like it would just be adding a beefier cover. Maybe Im missing something but when I was under the car I was looking at the way the rear bar is mounted and I just dont get it.

I think something like a croxx plate, but for a larger portion of the underbody would be nice as it would serve a protection cover, bracing, and provide better aero under the car. I would like to see something like this

The one benefit I do see to a typical guy with putting parts on that actually work is that it should prevent the car from increasing in rattles over time.

That was one thing I noticed on my E46 BMW. After 4 years of hard daily driving with urethane bushings, coil-overs, and big sway bars, that car never developed any panel rattles or cowl creek.

Every other car I've ever owned only took about 6 months before I had it rattling like a tin can full of marbles...2G DSMs are the worst. I'm sure my EVO is the same way now...if I could hear anything over the straight pipe, quartermaster twin and AMS Moustache bar eliminator.

I doubt it's supposed to do anything other work as a chassis bracing, I have no idea how effective it is.

From a few of your earlier posts I decided to check out what else GTSpec had - they have a 4 pt under-chassis front bracing here http://www.gtspec.com/product/gtspec...ce-evo-viii-ix which seems to replace the two factor bars. Even with that I am curious how effective such minimal bracing can be over the two stock bars.

The GT spec trunk cage - http://www.gtspec.com/product/gtspec...ge-evo-viii-ix seems good and equivalent to the works version.

Also FYI, Works sells the original single bar trunk brace that originally came with the Evo RS.

awesome!! that would be amazing.

I have that 4pt ladder under brace. Did not feel a big difference.

Could those fender braces be made to incorporate being bolted to the oem strut tower bar as well? I think that would really stiffen that area up.

not sure - unless you have different fenders i think my guess would be no - not to mention needing a custom fabber.

to summarize so far

fender bracings are a "must"
some sort of trunk bracing is helpful as well, not AS necessary.

the jury is still out on subframe bracing - though for now we "know" that minimal bracings, like gtspecs won't do anything. i still think a bracing like the oswald where its fully connected would have benefit though.

Haven't heard from anyone with the full set of Cusco subframe bracings, though after spending that kind of money its hard to imagine a buyer saying that it didn't do anything.

Anything else? Outside of cages and stitch welds and etc?

is it an ebay part or just sold on ebay?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ULTRA...ht_14267wt_941

if you look at the pics at the bottom of the link seems to be a legitimate individual company? I think Malaysian?

This is the question I'm trying to find out too.

some people are just so JDM they think if its on ebay its junk...when in fact there are plenty of good products on ebay...along with junk

I bought my last set of NT01's from Ebay...they were being sold by a performance shop in Socal ..it wasn't a fake tire and if it was it sure fooled me and helped me get my Personal best at the track

well here's their official site etc http://www.ultraracing.my/template.asp?menuid=01

what qualifies as an "ebay" brand?

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-owners-2.html

Also - does it come with one or two pieces?

http://www.rhdjapan.com/nagisa-auto-...tsubishi-64342

seems from these images the nagisa comes with both left and right for $234
