AST Blog - 929 Evo

http://ast-usa.com/blog/

Getting a nice shout-out from AST. Check out the link above for details.

It's basically part of a small writeup we did on the car after the 1st month of the season. We switched out the suspension in favor of new AST 4100's. It's the 3rd set of coilovers and 5th overall suspension setup I've had on the car; and I've tracked them all! This is the best yet by far and I've been very very happy with the AST's.

So far this year we're 8-8 in wins and 4-4 in track records! And the craziest number of all - 0 adjustments to the AST's....

Thanks again to Aaron at the Winning Formula in Louisville, KY for all his advice and help on coilover brand, type, springs, alignments, ride heights, etc.

I'll leave you with a pic from my last event - check out the tires on the left!

Congrats on the season so far...
My car is in a current state of rebuild for next year and I will be getting a blog started as well, so seeing your updates is always good.
Keep it up buddy!

Nice! Good to hear some good things coming from those 4100's. Seems like a bunch of people bought them but never saw any real reviews.

What rates/bars are you running if you dont mind me asking?

Hopefully I'll get my review of the AST 4100's up soon. I've also went through 3 coilover setups and 5 suspension setups, and this one by far is my favorite! I don't plan on ever swapping these out unless I sell my car!

Wow - that's a lot of setups too!

I was pretty close to going with the 4200's. They cost the same amount of 'mod pts' in NASA as they are still only 2-way adjustable. But I was assured by my suspension guy the 4100's had great valving. And I'm not one to tinker or test the hell outta the car - I figure it out behind the wheel and adapt I guess. So I kept the extra $ in my pocket and the single adjustable (rebound) 4100's have been great thus far.

Glad to see some performance reviews of these. Great coilover for the price.

Thx.
Ya know the AST's are my 5th setup that I've tracked too! I had more expensive options on the table too - AST 4200's & JRZ RSPros. I'm happy with the 4100's though and with the Vorschlag hardware up front, we've got more than enough camber available for the car now!

Gingerman was better this year, but I'm still not happy with my lines around the new section of the track. 1:38.8 was my best I believe.
