I think the best way to see if the stock dampers (shocks) are overdamped is to remove the stockers and put them on a shock dyno. The results will tell us which springs are best for the stock dampers. I believe that the stock shocks are overdamped, but believe is not science and we need proof.

If I go with springs only on the EVO, then I will for sure do a shock dyno to get springs that match the damper. It might end up that the stock springs are the best match for the shocks but I doubt that. It is possible that our feeling that the car is too stiff stems from the fact that our roads are CRAP. In Japan and Europe roads tend to be smoother and the EVO GSR/RS suspension was designed for such roads. This could explain why Mitsu came up with the MR suspension. You will not that the MR in Japan and Europe is even stiffer than our GSR/RS.

I think US MR shocks are softer than regular Evos...
MR shocks responds faster.. but softer (according to SCC mags).

I am talking about the European/JDM MR and NOT the USDM MR. I know that the USDM MR has softer springs than the USDM GSR/RS

Not sure what you are asking? The alignment should be set to the same specs, regardless of what springs you use. zero toe front/back, -1/0 camber front/back are common specs for a daily driver.

You're joking, right? The MR has a totally different springs and dampers than other Evos.

So is MR worth extra ca$h or not. Especially looking at this "Bilstein suspension". I know you get better wheels and 6 speed but I am especially curious about suspension.
