Spring Rate Chart
I just installed some Tein Flex coilovers this weekend. The ride is very stiff now. I'm not liking them very much. I adjusted the dampening to the softest level and its still a bumpy ride. The adjustability of these is very nice though.
12kg and 10kg (14 and 12 at your choice) are rates of the Super Racing kit.
Otherwise, they are not stiff enough on the track (the principal use of my Evo), so I plan to sell them and choose the Super Racing...

ok so i installed the tein s-techs on my evo 8 and the ride seems softer than stock. the reason i say that is at higher speeds when i do like a sharp lane change i have this body roll/recoil type effect and i had someone tell me its because my springs and not as stiff as stock. has anyone else ever had this problem? when i do this it makes my stearing seem a bit lose. anyone know about this. also if i get the tein coilovers will a normal alignment shop be able to re-elign it?
Another Report on the Stance Coilovers
Here's my second impression of the Stance GR+ coilovers, after using them in three auto-crosses. In the first autocross, I didn't have the alignment I asked for (they gave me -1.6 camber in the rear, when I asked for -1.25).
After fixing that, I did much better in the second autocross, and the suspension felt wonderfully responsive and glued to the road. I had the dampers set to 6 clicks from full stiff, both front and rear, as recommend by Stance, instead of full stiff, as in the first event. But the car was still understeering on turn-in, and slightly understeering in steady-state cornering.
In the third event, I tried stiffening the rear dampers (4-clicks from full stiff) and softening the front dampers (8-clicks from full stiff). Also, I increased the pressure differential to 33F/38R. Previously I had been using only a 3 lb differential. (Note that I'm on the stock rear sway bar.) This immediately improved my times by .8 seconds, in an 80 -econd course. The car now turns in eagerly, although the slight steady-state cornering understeer is still there, and I'll fix that with a stiffer rear sway bar.
Needless to say, I'm incredibly pleased with these coilovers, especially considering they were only $1200 direct from the factory!
