Megan Coils Seized

I have spent a few days trying to bust these things loose, and I have only started on the front two! On one of the coils the collar is stuck and the shaft is moving, on the other the shaft is stuck but the collar is moving. I have been spraying PB blaster on them constantly for 3 days, I have banged on them with a heavy plastic mallet. I even had a buddy try his pneumatic hammer. I loosened the mounting nut, and that is stuck as well.. so no getting it off the car to get more torque on it.

What would you guys suggest? I am at a stopping point with these things.

Okay well first of all the megan coils are full of nitrogen from what I've heard, so do you mean with something other than a torch? And I was typing that all fast I was getting pissed that I couldn't get them loose lol.

This is what I meant- The threaded shock body on one is stuck in the lower bracket, and the lower lock ring is stuck on the other.

Happened to me. Couldn't lower the front. How did I fix it? Bought OEM suspension and Swift springs. Gave the coils to a friend who gave up with it and junked it.

But if you must, I would suggest putting it into a large table vice, get a large pipe wrench, and start going at it. I don't know if you can but try taking the top hats off and remove the springs and shock that's in there, then get a torch to heat it up.

I'm giving it one more try today, taking them off the car and attempting a rebuild with a friend. We will take the coil overs off the car, then take the shock cylinder out of the coils so we can heat up the threads. If that doesn't work--
I will be willing to buy a set of MR bilsteins =] hit me up!

They'll do the same with a higher end C/O assuming it will be driven in the same elements

Unless you find a set that are full SS or AL bodied. You'll see this with any coils

Fun Fun. Get the MR Bilsteins, you'll thank yourself later
