i feel you on this one
it's sad we can't go much wider than 235's
cuz the fender flares beg for a wider setup

obviously evo is not a vip sedan but i've seen crazy rim/tire
setups........how does 225's on 10.5" rims sound

That is not correct, in my case, I run 18x9.0 et 29 255/35/18 but been the other wheel 18x9.5 et35, you could run the same tire as mine no problem.

Like the rims, I am wondering about rubbing once it is lowered. If you can go a little wider on your tires, if not it still looks good. Don't worry about Diesel he's a hater, just look at his other threads he comments in

Sweet! ,
I may have to try that setup next. The extra grip should definitely help for putting down huge power to the wheels.

We should see about the rubbing tomorrow (getting the car lowered). I'll let you know my experiences afterward. The only place that looks like it may give me some problems is with the rear fender lip... the lowered stance may require me to roll the fender lips a bit... or maybe not.

Yeah, Diesel is a trip... makes me want to laugh.
He obviously enjoys making snide remarks... more power to him. People like him don't bother me one bit.

I have 18 X 8.5's with a 245/40 and they rub making sharp turns. That was before it was lowered. You have to be rubbing somewhere. LOL

I think I'm gonna buy those Kumho's in a 235/40 and just be done with it.

Nope... no rubbing anywhere.. surprising, ain't it?
We'll see what happens when I lower it today.
Where was yours rubbing? You'll love the Kumhos.

Before it was lowered, it was rubbing when the wheel was turned all the way. You could see the front tire actually touch the splash gaurd when turned. Now that it's lowered, it rubs the top of the fender ever so slightly when I hit a big enough dip in the road or corner hard.

I have the Tein S-Techs right now, but I have the H-Tech's siting at a buddies house that I'm gonna put on this weekend. If those don't help then I'm buying tires.

Will do! Well, I got my baby lowered today (well, yesterday since I'm up so freakin' late/early). I eventually plan to get a full set of JIC coilovers and get them tuned by a master suspension tuning buddy of mine that works for Subaru of Gwinnett/Atlanta. But for right now, I just went with some TEIN STech springs. I was abit nervous about going with them over the HTech because I thought they may drop my car too low with my mammoth-sized wheels. Guess what.... I was wrong! The car sits so pretty right now (2 inches lower in the front, approx an inch in the back) with absolutely NO rubbing! I got a performance alignment at the Subie dealership (neg 1.5 deg camber all around).... went out to test the new suspension with the technician.... hard-cornering and all.... no rubbing. I'm thinking that the 235 tires have something to do with it. When I get the JICs installed and tuned later on down the road, I will have to try raising the car slightly and giving some 255s a shot. That will be after a few more power upgrades.

I'll post some pics today

I hope the H-Techs solve your problem, Dude. I'm pretty sure they will.

so.. it's a 17x9's right?.. 35 offset as well?
How did you take care of the rear fender problem?..
Did you roll it yourself?

Thanks,
