18x9.5s

Well, I know most folks go for the 8.5 inch width, but I was trying to achieve a slightly wider stance. So here is my Apex Silver w/ bronze 18x9.5 inch TE37s (+35 offset).

Incidentally... I took the liberty of weighing and comparing my new wheel/tire combo with the stock combo:

Stock ENKEI 17x8 w/ Yoko Advan 235/45R17 (almost bald) = 44lbs
VOLK TE37 18x9.5 w/ Kumho Ecsta MX 235/40R18 (new!) = 40lbs

I know, I know.... the wheel gap will dissappear this week.

Here is another... Not much room to go any wider as the top of the tire just barely fits inside of the fender well (almost flush)... I LOVE the look though.

Looks good. I need to see it lowered. It looks like it's gonna rub. IMO.

Yeah... I can't wait to lower it. We'll see how low it can go without rubbing.

Well, I'm a dealer so I get the goods from the mainland.

i'm confused...

you wanted a wider stance yet stayed with the stock 235 tire...?

serioulsy that looks like ***... sorry...

the tires are so stretched, you look like one of those ugly *** VW guys that think the stretched tire look is cool... if you were going to go with a 9.5" wheel, you shoulda went with at LEAST a 245, but probably shoulda went with the 255... you gained NOTHING but weight with this setup...

I respect your opinion... but hey... I like what I like. Just for your info, though, there are two tire sizes that fit the stock rotational diameter the most closely... 235/40 and 265/35. I decided to start with the 235 and work my way up. Both 235 and 245 tires are rated to fit 8 inch to 9.5 inch with the same "stretch" as you put it. I plan to experiment with the 235s and move up if possible. I'm all about experimentation.

Oh, by the way... the tire "stretch" reminds me exactly of what a BMW M3 looks like sitting on the factory 19s. I happen to think those are pretty cool too.

Thanks man. The Kumhos are wonderful... Great tire for the money (around $130+ from Tire Tack). I did extensive research on them before purchasing and found that they were definitely one of the best for the price. Not quite as sticky as the Advans... But pretty darn sticky. The sidewalls don't seem very willing to roll over in cornering either despite being 1-ply (I'm sure my wheel width has something to do with that though). It hasn't rained since I put them on so I haven't gotten to test the in the rain yet... Its overcast now so maybe I'll see tonight. I don't think you can go wrong with these, Bro. The bonus is that they look good!
