Stumped

I was in the process of pulling a front knuckle today. Knowing it was unlikely the ABS sensor would come out of the hub I removed the fender liner and disconnected the ABS sensor there. However, the plug is clipped to the under structure of the fender and refuses to come off. Anyone know how to get this off without trashing the plug?

The clip holding the line to the frame could be released from inside the engine bay.

This is the plug itself on the end of the sensor cable. I looked and there's nothing in the engine bay. From looking at an internet photograph I see what I am up against. It is the usual barbed tab, but very strong construction, in a hole with no access to the backside. The only solution appears to be cutting.

I cut it with a Dremel cut off disc and purchased at Advance Auto a barbed loop I put around the plug. Knuckle removal was for hub replacement.

After reading take the knuckle off and pound for two hours the knuckle went to Bear Frame and Axle for hub removal. Nothing even had a mark on it when I got the parts back. Its the best $15 I ever spent.

Having and/or using a shop press is the way to go when working with stuff like the hubs on these cars..

^^I have to agree.

Figuring it would be the other front bearing as always happens as I read here, I bought two hubs. So, naturally, after the first one, the noise is gone.
