Odd handling only in rain/tar strips

I have an EVO that has been acting funny handling wise only in certain conditions. Under normal conditions the car handles like a dream, completely fine. Even in the rain, still fine like normal.

But on this highway I often drive there is a section with numerous tar strips. When the road is dry it doesn't cause a problem, but in the rain when I go over these tar strips the car acts wild! Pulls hard to the right and then snaps back to the left. Seems like the tires want to slide out completely and take me into a ditch. Its easy enough to control but I have to be cautious to not go too fast and try to not be right beside another car when I go over the tar strips.

Any ideas? I did hit a rather large pothole a few weeks ago, and I think it may be related.

I do plan on taking the car somewhere asap to have everything with the alignment/suspension checked out but Im just wondering what you guys think this could be.

Interesting. I really dont recall this ever happening until after I hit that large pothole, but I could definitely be wrong. Its something to consider, thanks for the info.

Tramlining on an Evo is largely a bump steer issue unless you have gargantuan rubber.

The soft rear LCA bushing is a major contributor on the front end. Whitline, PSRS or Ralliart bushing will decrease this a lot. Some added NVH.

If the car is lowered bump steer is worsened and additional steps may be necessary.

The car is lowered significant from the previous owner so this makes a lot of sense.

As you noted, the suspension may be a bit upside down (way too low)

Dumped suspension w/ wide high performance tires is the likely issue
