Questions for everyone running 18x9.5 +35 with wide tires
Just wondering if there's anyone running this size wheel with a 265/35 or wider without spacers to clear the inside? Wheels in question are WedsSport TC105Xs. Car is an 05 8 lowered on stock struts with Hotchkis springs. (Coilovers coming soon)... I've read multiple threads and I'm getting mixed answers, some say no spacers required and then other say they needed a 10mm spacer to clear the suspension. I'm not really a fan of spacers and would prefer to not run them if possible.
The other size wheel i have in mind is an 18x9 +32 which I'm sure would be an all around easier fit and weigh .75lbs lighter. But if the extra half an inch would be worth it, I'd rather go with that size. Car is not a daily, and intentions are to attend hpde events, so barley fitting with rubbing isn't really an option..

If you want the tires to clear everything without modding the fenders, the offset requirements are different front and rear. It also depends on camber and tire selection. With about -2 deg front and -1.5 rear, the front wheels and tires should clear the struts or coilovers with +30 mm while the rear will need +35 mm to avoid rubbing the rear fender. I suggest buying a +35 mm offset rim and using a 5 mm spacer up front. A 5 mm spacer can work with stock studs, but its right at the limit. I'd get longer studs. Or just go with +30 mm rims and plan on rolling the rear. Also, a 265/30-18 will definitely rub the front fender liners at large steering angles. It won't rub the front fender lip though at least at appropriate camber settings.

I'm currently running a 255/40-17 on the stock 8 wheels but was thinking about jumping up to a 265/35 18 since it still retains the stock wheel diameter and a 265 is hard to find in a 17...

I'm debating on just going with the 18x9 +32. I don't mind rolling the fenders some, I just don't know about pulling or cutting anything. Currently the car has no front liners(not really sure what the previous owner was doing). I was just wanting to confirm that the +35 would need a spacer up front.

If you go with 18x9, run 255/35. Don't try to put 265/35 on that size rim.

Yeah, 265/40-17 is only available for just a few tires. 265/35-18 is readily available in almost all popular brand/models. For a reasonable amount of negative camber at the front, 18x9.5 +35 mm will likely rub with 265/35-18, especially if the tires have a substantial rim protector like my Michelin A/S 3+ tires. 265/35-18 with +35 mm will be a tight fit at the rear fender. It might even require a slight roll. +30 mm will definitely require a roll, but shouldn't require a pull.
If you go with 18x9, run 255/35. Don't try to put 265/35 on that size rim.
