Ohlins CZ4A on CT9A

Guys!

What's the difference in between CZ4A and CT9A Ohlins R&T? Can I install / modify CZ4A set to work on CT9A? I currently have R&T installed on my Evo IX, but I can get a set from X with a very low miles (<1,500) and very cheap (<$1K). Want to keep as spare

Thanks!

Anton

Have never seen a good, informative, detailed reply to this question but the general note ive seen are:
  • The rears will most definitely not fit
  • The fronts are similar & may fit

Im going to be digging into the EvoX rear uprights this winter so not yet fully versed in EvoX rear bits but the lower mount is probably the issue. Front have the same mounting at the upright and Im pretty sure same upper mount. Not sure on length difference.

You may be able to get the rear to work with just a replacement lower mount. Its threaded onto the body and something you may be able to buy through a vendor that does rebuilds (like PSI).

Valving will be different and incorrect, and mounts will need to be changed.

If they're really that low mileage, buy them and resell for profit. They retail for $2300. Put them up for $1900obo...

I have Evo and this "spare" Ohlins back in Ukraine, so local market is pretty limited LOL.

I don’t know if this will help, but I bought a set of evo x fortune auto coilivers for my evo 8.I only changed out the front camber plates not the whole camber assy.just the plates. In the rear I had to change out the bottom shock mount to evo 8/9.Works good

Interesting info

What made you get the X c/o'rs?

Did you measure these out confirming the same configuration as the CT9A's?

Front top plates and rear lower threaded sections are different.

Why would the valving be different if they have the same rates? Weight difference?

Possibly. Valving isn't completely dependent on the spring.

I bought a used evo x setup because it’s was super cheap and low miles.I didn’t do any measuring, they looked super close to the same as the ct9a chassis.I called fortune auto and asked them what the differences might be.I got them cheap enough, that if they didn’t work,I could have sold them.
