Evo IV strut replacement questions

Hey guys, had some questions. I have had some strut noises since purchasing the car. Tried holding it off until spring but today with the cold coming in, I assume made it much worse. No longer driving the car until replacing to spare any more damage. With that being said I picked up a set of Tien coilovers nothing special but from what I read is enough for DD to and from work. With that being said is there anything else I should be ordering to complete the install and make it last any longer? I read on some other forum that the insulator that goes on top has a bearing and shall be replaced over time. On that same discussion, someone mentioned that with coilovers it does not even fit and you can just leave it off? Any input would be greatly appreciated as it should be here in a few days and I need this car to be back up and running!

Thank you!

Hey @Jak_2

Sure the Teins are in the same league as a Megan in my opinion. Not sure if i understand what you mean regarding the stock poly isolator bumper? Read Tein instal instructions. Dont think that stock poly iso bumper will be re-used if that is what you were referring to?

You will need an alignment for sure but nothing more is needed unless you want to start replacing the front bushes?

Thanks @MinusPrevious . So I am doubtful that the instructions will be of much help considering the language barrier. I could be wrong maybe they have a set of English instructions. After some translating on the website and digging around, it looks like I need the top mounts as the Street Advance Z does not come with their own. Mine do not look in the greatest shape but will have to do for now until I can find some to order. The coilovers should be here between this Friday and Christmas eve. Hopefully the install goes okay. First snow storm and I had to ask for a ride to work .

Oh, i see. i looked them up & there are no pillow ball mounts. Maybe consider a bit of an upgrade & get a set of C/o'rs w/the pillow ball mounts included?

Ive run some budget friendly C/o'rs in the past & they all came w/the upper mounts (Skunks / Megan)
