Please help ASAP brake problem

My wife was driving my car today and was turning into MC D's as she turned the antilock light came on and the brakes locked up, she had to turn the car off and restart it to get it to move. They are still making noises as well like the antilock is trying to work. She was going less than 5mph when this happened, really glad she wasn't going faster could have caused huge problems.

Anyone have any idea what caused this? Any help is appreciated.

I think it might be that you need to change your brake fluid. This same thing happend to another Evo owner here in my area. Anytime he applied the brakes hard the ABS light would come on. Also he needed to replace the front pads. My advice have the dealer look at it ASAP or if you have your own Tech take a look at it.

Another way to tell if you fluid needs to be changed is take a look at the master cylinder resivoir if the fluid is very dark you need you system flushed and new fluid installed. It should be a light clear brown color.

At the risk of being a bigger post ***** than I already am, I'd say there is an issue with the wheel sensors. For whatever reason the ABS ECu thinks one or more of the wheels are locking up. Just my guess. Whatever it is, I'd get it to a qualified mechanic.

I agree with propellerhead (man that sounds funny). I bet there's an issue with one of the wheel sensors. Did you have any 'oops' when you installed your springs? It's not hard to damage them. Take it to the dealer in any case. Brakes aren't something you want to guess about.

Thanks for the help. I'm going to take it into the dealer soon as possible. I think I agree with the wheel sensor problem.
