Help! bled caliper dry

I was bleeding my brakes over the weekend, and didn't pay attention to the fluid in the resevoir. I bled the left rear caliper dry, to the point that no fluid only air was coming out the bleeder ( i was using a pressure bleeder). i refilled the resevior, and bled it again, but i am concerned there may be some residual air left in the system, lines, etc. any pointers on getting the system thoughly bled? the pedal is a little spongy right now, but i haven't had a chance to drive the car yet. thanks

You bled the Master cylinder and the abs system dry. You will need to bleed these 2 systems before you attempt bleeding the brakes again....and bleeding the abs system is not the easiest thing to do!

Quick tip. If you just need to change/freshen fluid, all you need to do is open the bleeders on the calipers and let the fluid drain. Make sure the master cylinder does not run dry. When I do this I use my mighty vac to suck out all the old fluid from the res., put the new fluid in and drain. All the pumping/pressure bleed is only needed if you have air in the system.

-thanks for the reply. i can understand that the master cylinder would need to be bled but why the ABS system? what do i need to do to bleed the master cylinder? drove the car today to bed in my carbotech panthers. pedal has a little initial slop but then feels good.

I did the same thing (let it run dry). I was looking at the res but at the clutch part not the brake part. Anyways, I bled the system per Mitsu instructions (start car, then follow a certian order I can't remember, sorry). Everything felt fine. Went to Streets of Willow and had no problems.
