Got a question for you...

I'm already tuned on ECUtek.... You said this one is tuned on ECUFlash... Would I see the same gains if I were to do the "pill" mod?

Mike W is controlling the boost via ECUTek, no MBC/EBC other then the ECUTek.

I'm also going to be re-tuned w/ the FP Red, Forge Waste gate actuator.

Any help would be great.

Any tuning software that has access to the correct boost tables (EcuTek, COBB, Ecuflash) and a tuner that knows how factory ECU-controlled boost works can tune the Boost Assembly upgrade correctly.

It is available. I received mine about a week ago. It is the same pill as the IX, at least that is what I was told when I called and talked to Bryan.

 

Interesting mod. Nice results. What are the advantages of this pill if you already have a tune and can adjust boost within the software?

 

The 'pill' is a flow restrictor in one of the lines going to the boost solenoid. Basically, it's a physical/mechanical limitation on the system that will only allow a certain amount of boost regardless of the duty cycle of the boost solenoid.

By changing the size of the hole in the pill/restrictor, you change the limit of the amount of boost you can run.

 

Im slightly confused. This pill needs tuned for correct? Well, from what i've seen, you can obtain the same boost levels/rpm range from just an ecutek tune alone...Im not really sure if i see how the pill is helping when a tune can handle this as well. Please enlighten me.

 

No matter the software used to tune, there is always a duty cycle limit and will quickly be hitting the limit in the upper RPM ranges with the stock assembly. The upgraded assembly allows more boost for the same duty cycle.

How does your boost assembly differ from stock? (Besides the pill)

 

It is a 100% OEM boost assembly with the upgraded pill installed. It's useful for swapping with the current boost assembly on the car. Some people don't like molesting their stock assembly so we offer this as well.

 

If we buy these pills do we get screenshots or maps of the boost control tables we need to change?
