just because they dont know, doesnt mean they are stupid as hell. if one were to judge you based on your grammar skills, and lack of puncuation... one would think you might be "stupid as hell" also.

on another note, im curious to see how long this tc-sst trans will hold up with all that torque..

E85 does wonders. If you havn't tried it you should...I went from 91 oct (all we have in Wichita) + Methanol injection which put down 450WHP with 405WTQ @ 29.5 PSI to E85 @ 31 PSI which made 506 WHP With 472 WTQ with an amazing tune by KevinD of Evolution Dynamics in TX. MINE IS A IX not a X though.

Perhaps not, I should have said South Side Performance. They make an upgrade kit that is rated for 410 tq.

Awesome. I'm thinking about switching to E85 myself.....can the car run E85 for extended periods of time with no issues (with a tune of course)?

Save it. I understand the chemical characteristic of E85 quite well and how exactly power is manufactured on an internal combustion engine. You typically don't see a retune on E85 with just one additional pound of boost. It just seemed like quite a large jump in power from 1 pound of boost.

There are some lines inside the fuel tank that break down and will need to be replaced. There is a thread here somewhere, if I can find it, I will link to it.

Check the alt fuels section, yes.

Great numbers. By the way, where are the non-believers of MR transmissions? what, who, when, how? yea, that is right, stop speculating about the MR not being able to handle torque.

E85 as a fuel is widely used in Sweden and is becoming increasingly common in the United States, mainly in the Midwest where corn is a major crop and is the primary source material for ethanol fuel production; however as yet, there are about 1900 filling stations selling E85 to the public in the US.
It's basically ethanol at your local gas station. "corn fuel". It burns much cooler and can advance the timing a lot more with e85 because of it. Which causes a major power increase. A comparison, English Racing gained about 120whp just by converting a modded evo to e85 compared to pump gas with the same parts.

Thumbs up Higher Octain is E-85's secrete to more power

E-85 actually burns cooler than 93-94 OCT. pump gasoline does, in fact it has less BTUs ( British Thermal Units ) per gallon than Pump Gasoline. E-85 having less BTUs per gallon is the reason an E-85 tune requires more fuel ( about 40% more fuel ) than Pump Gasoline to run at a 11.5 AFR and the reason the motor gets poorer fuel mileage when using E-85. One of it's advantages is it has a higher octain rating than Pump Gasoline, ( about 105 OCT ). Therefore it can take more advanced timing and more boost pressure before it will pre-ignite ( detonation ) and this will produce more ultimate torque resulting in more H.P. because of it's higher octain. Another one of it's advantages is it has a relatively higher cooling affect on the combustion chamber environment, which is the main reason behind it's higher octain rating. Bottom line is more detonation free advanced timing and higher boost pressure ( of coarse up to a point ) means more torque, resulting in more H.P.

Hope this helps - Bob

YOU asked the question. Questions are usually asked when you don't understand. I simply answered. Please be respectful.
