I would still go with the 35R over the PT5857. Honestly, you don't really notice the lag after a few days. The 35R on our car spooled right at 4k and pulled all the way to redline. It's a huge difference on top end performance.

The lag does not bother me. Its really not bad. I hated the stock turbo that hit right away but then felt like it fell on its face at 5k. Most of my driving is in stop and go taffic in the Bay Area. 60 miles a day
Based on previous cars this is how the lag breaks down.
1K-3K= 4 cylinder Honda Accord
3K-4K= Stock V8 Mustang or Camaro
4K-8k= C6 Z06
